Good Stories
A funny thing happened to me on the way to the studio!
A little while ago my friends at Camera Kingston lent me a Canon DSLR with HD video capabilities. As fate would have it I’ve trying to drag my teenage son into the studio for an portrait of him for a while with no luck, soooooo I got this pretty cool camera for one day – a kid that loves to skateboard and needs a updated portrait - I can’t get him into the studio on the weekend cause he wants to hang with his buddies – so what do i do?
I drop into his school, chat with his principal about this new camera then pulled Mitch out of class just before lunch (remember I got permission from the principal). We drop this huge 70-200mm lens on the camera (the kind you see with the TSN sport photographers) we go around the corner and start the photography session on the street plus on the bike path close to the school yard. We are just about to wrap it up and move to another location after capturing some video footage of Mitch skating plus some candid and stills when the school yard supervisor comes flying up the path towards us wondering why we photographing the schools kids. Quickly she recognizes me as parent and the father of Mitchell and the watch dogs are called off. So after the dust settles I meet up the principal again they all have a big laugh that the school kids called in to the office that someone with a large camera was photographing the school kids and they totally forgot about about me photographing my son.
Anyways the session turned out great! So well in fact it has launched a new session style that we call “LifeStyle Session” Check it out on our Facebook posting this truly ROCKS!!
